FAQs

What type of injection is used?

The Niagen At-Home Injection Kit is designed for subcutaneous administration—injections into the fatty tissue layer beneath the skin. Your licensed clinician will determine the appropriate administration method. The most common injection site for subcutaneous injection is in the abdomen.

Is the Niagen® At-Home Injection Kit the same as Niagen™ IV?

No. While both deliver Niagen®, Niagen IV is administered intravenously in a clinical setting, while the at-home kit uses subcutaneous injections that can be administered outside the clinic, with medical guidance.

Who should not use Niagen injectable therapy?

Niagen injectable therapy may not be appropriate for everyone. Eligibility depends on individual health history and is determined during your telehealth consultation. Only a qualified, licensed medical professional can confirm whether treatment is right for you. Niagen Plus is not intended for use by children.

FAQs

What is the Niagen At-Home Injection Kit and how does it work?

The Niagen® At-Home Injection Kit provides a pharmaceutical-grade prescription formulation of Niagen® designed for subcutaneous injection outside of a clinic setting, under medical supervision and guidance from a licensed healthcare provider.

The Niagen® At-Home Injection Kit uses a sterile, ready-to-inject liquid formulation, fewer components, and fewer steps than earlier versions, so there is no mixing or reconstitution required.

Niagen Bioscience is not the manufacturer or compounder of this product. Compounding is performed by a licensed 503B outsourcing facility.

What type of injection is used?

The Niagen At-Home Injection Kit is designed for subcutaneous administration — injections into the fatty tissue layer beneath the skin. Your licensed provider will determine the appropriate administration method. The most common injection site for subcutaneous injection is in the abdomen.

Do I still need medical supervision if I inject at home?

Medical supervision is provided through a licensed telehealth provider. Even though injections may be performed at home, the treatment requires a prescription and ongoing management by a licensed healthcare professional. If you have any questions regarding the treatment you can reach out to your provider by navigating to your account, then to your order. Within your order there is a chat button for you to communicate directly with the provider who approved your prescription.

Is the at-home injection the same as Niagen IV?

No. While both deliver Niagen®, Niagen™ IV is administered intravenously in a clinical setting, while the Niagen® At-Home Injection Kit uses subcutaneous injections that can be administered outside the clinic, with prescription, medical guidance and delivered directly to your door.

How often do I use the injection kit?

Treatment frequency depends on your provider's prescribed dosing schedule. Treatment plans are designed to include a dose every 3-5 days.

How long does one injection kit last?

Niagen® At-Home Injection Kits will vary depending on the protocol your provider recommends and are designed to last approximately one month. You can check your specific treatment course details in your account or your Patient Instructions for Use.

How is Niagen™ Plus different from other NAD+ injection or IV products?

Many NAD+ products on the market deliver NAD+ directly, which the body must break down before it can be used by the cells. Niagen™ Plus delivers NR, a precursor (building block) to NAD+, which enters cells directly.

Why NR instead of NAD+ directly?

NAD+ is a large molecule that has difficulty entering cells intact. Nicotinamide riboside (NR), the active ingredient in Niagen® and a precursor (building block) to NAD+, is smaller and can be taken up by cells directly, where it’s converted into NAD+. This is why we deliver NR rather than NAD+ itself, whether by injection or IV.

Is the Niagen At-Home Injection Kit available in my state?

Availability varies by state. Some states have restrictions on the shipment of compounded prescription products, and eligibility is confirmed as part of the telehealth consultation process.

The Niagen® At-Home Injection Kit ships to all US states except Alabama and Arkansas. It’s now available in California and Massachusetts.

If your state isn’t one that’s excluded, start the intake process and we'll confirm eligibility directly.

Is the Niagen® At-Home Injection Kit HSA/FSA eligible or covered by insurance?

The Niagen® At-Home Injection Kit is not currently covered by insurance. The kit is not yet HSA/FSA eligible, but our team is working hard to make this available.
