What the New Pilot Study Results Reveal

Our new at-home offering is grounded in the first published clinical safety data on injectable NR in humans—two pilot studies conducted by researchers at Niagen Bioscience, our parent company, the Nutraceuticals Research Institute, and Impact Health Medical.

• Two first-of-their-kind pilot trials evaluated NR injections via subcutaneous (sub-q) and intramuscular (IM) routes in humans.

• Generally well-tolerated. Across both studies, no serious treatment-related adverse events were reported. The most common reactions were typical injection-site discomfort—some pain or muscle soreness for IM, some redness or itching for sub-q.

• At-home self-injection was shown to be feasible under protocol-defined conditions—a notable finding for the field and directly relevant to the at-home kit program.

• Preliminary signals around modest reductions in systolic blood pressure, inflammation markers (hsCRP), and fasting blood glucose were observed, though the authors appropriately flag these as hypothesis-generating and in need of larger, placebo-controlled trials to confirm.

• Vital signs and blood chemistry remained within normal ranges throughout.

Study 2 is particularly relevant to the At-Home Kit conversation: after an initial three-day in-clinic phase, participants transitioned to self-administering subcutaneous injections at home three times per week for 90 days.
